KUNDALINI YOGA

KUNDALINI MEANS 'COILING'

The jeeva shakthi which is coiled like that of a snake in the 'Mooladharanchakra'is raised up step by step till the 'Sahasradhalam' where it shoots up like serpent head as 'Paambaatti Siddhar' says.

The chakras present in our body are:

1.Mooladhara chakra-At the end of the spinal chord.

2.Swadhishtana chakra-Four finger width below the navel cord

3.Mani pooraha chakra-At the navel chord

4.Anahadha chakra-Heart(chest)

5.Vishukthi-Throat or the vocal chord

6.Agya chakra Spot between the eye brows(above the nose)

7.Dhuriam or Sahasradhalam-Head-(Top of the body)


 

THE YOGA CONSISTS OF 8 STEPS

1.IYAMAM-To get rid of evils.

2.NIYAMAM-To follow te moral codes. Abide by the sasthras.

-3.ASANAM-Physical exercise combining with breathing exercise.

4.PRANAYAM-Breathing ecersice in a rhythmic way (Pooraham-Kumbaham-Rechakam)

5.PRATHYAHARM- Focussing our concentration on one thing

6.DHARANAI-Experiencing God in a conceptual form

7.DHYANAM-Controlling all the five senses and focusing our concentration on one thought.
