Yoga

The term yoga comes from the Sanskrit 'yug' which means join, to unite as one. So yoga means union. All union within oneself. We have body, mind, intellect, will, senses, and their activities, emotions, feelings, desires, thoughts and so on. Yoga teaches us to develop inner harmony. Again yoga means union of man with nature. It is the same elements by which we and the wole universe are made. What we see in the water we in our body. What we see in the plants are animals we in our body. The vegetables or grains which we eat are transformed into our body. So there is a real ones which our body has with plants or nature. Ultimately yoga means union with the creator. Actually we have no need to unite; this union is already there in principle. We have to discover or realize it, then only we will have the experience of unity which is the aim of religion.

Yoga was integrated and simplified by Pathanjali in fifth century A.D. Life is full of stress and stran, of tension and nervous irritability . If any one puts into practice a few of the elementary principles of yoga he will be far better equipped to cope with his complex existence.

GREAT COMPOSERS

1.MUSICAL TRINITY

The three great composers, Thyagaraja(1767-18470) Muthuswamy Dikshitar(1776-1835) and Shyama Sasthri(1762-1827) constitute the Musical Trinity-Vageyakaras(Sangeetha Mummurtigal) of South India. They were great musicians and were kings in their own realm. This period seems to have been a golden era of music all over the world. The greatest geniuses of the world lived and flourished during that period. Europe saw at that time the great composers Beethoven, Mozart, Mendelssohn, Schubert and Weber. The musical Trinity are almost responsible for making Tanjore the significant spot on the musical map of South India. With their compositions a fresh chapter in the history of Sangeetha kaviththuvam(musical creation) begins. The exhibit distinctive style in their kritis and developed that musical form to perfection. They have brought out the best in South Indian music. They have to credit a number of group kritis like Pancharathnas, Navavarna kritis, Navarathnamalika, etc. All the three visited the important shrines in South India and sang songs in praise of the respective Deities. Above all these they have breathed their last punctually on the day and hour predicted.
